The HR/Accounts Officer plays a vital role in managing both human resources and financial aspects of an organization. This hybrid role requires a unique blend of skills in HR management and accounting to ensure efficient and accurate handling of employee-related matters and financial transactions.

Key Responsibilities:

Human Resources:

  • Assist in posting job openings, reviewing resumes, and coordinating interviews.
  • Facilitate the onboarding process for new employees, ensuring proper documentation and orientation.
  • Maintain accurate and confidential employee records, including personal information, contracts, and performance evaluations.
  • Update HRIS (Human Resources Information System) with relevant employee data.
  • Administer employee benefits programs, including health insurance, retirement plans, and leave policies.
  • Address employee inquiries regarding benefits and ensure timely communication.
  • Assist in resolving employee concerns and conflicts, escalating issues as needed.
  • Support in organizing employee engagement activities and events.
  • Assist in ensuring company policies and procedures are communicated and adhered to.
  • Stay informed about labor laws and regulations to ensure compliance.
  • Compile and analyze HR data to generate reports and insights for management decision- making.
  • Assist in preparing reports on HR metrics, turnover, and other relevant data.
  • Coordinate employee offboarding processes, including exit interviews and the completion of exit documentation.
  • Participate in HR-related projects and initiatives, contributing to process improvements and strategic HR planning.
  • Communicate and enforce HR policies and procedures to ensure consistency and fairness.
  • Assist in maintaining a safe and healthy work environment by adhering to safety policies and regulations.
  • Assist in organizing training sessions, workshops, and other learning opportunities.
  • Support the performance appraisal process by collecting feedback, maintaining records, and assisting in performance review meetings.

Accounts and Finance:

  • Maintain accurate financial records, including invoices, receipts, and transactions.
  • Input and verify financial data in accounting software or spreadsheets.
  • Process incoming invoices and prepare outgoing invoices to clients.
  • Monitor accounts receivable and follow up on overdue payments.
  • Reconcile bank statements with internal financial records to identify discrepancies.
  • Review and process employee expense reports, ensuring compliance with policies.
  • Assist in managing and controlling expenses within budget guidelines.
  • Assist in preparing financial reports and statements for management and auditing purposes.
  • Analyze financial data to identify trends and discrepancies.

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • A bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Accounting, Finance, or a related field is preferred.
  • Proven experience in both HR and accounting roles is an advantage.
  • Proficiency in using HRIS and accounting software, as well as Microsoft Office applications.
  • Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and confidentiality.
  • Excellent organizational, time management, and multitasking skills.
  • Familiarity with HR policies, labor laws, and financial regulations.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
