Amplio Ghana is duly registered with the registrar general department and Ministry of Gender, children, and social protection to operate as a non-governmental organization in Ghana. The organization has been in existence since 2007 and previously operated under the name Literacy Bridge Ghana until 2020. We are the country office of Amplio Network in the USA and have offices in Wa and Tamale. We are specialized in the design and delivery of social and behavior change interventions for vulnerable populations in remote and hard-to-reach communities (The last mile). Our mission is to empower the world’s most vulnerable populations through knowledge sharing. We also partner with government, non-governmental and civil society organizations to amplify the impact of their communication campaigns through the Amplio Talking Book digital solution. To date, we have partnered with several organizations across diverse sectors (health, WASH, nutrition, education, agriculture, climate change, protection, conflict prevention, gender, etc.) to deliver high-impact social programs targeted at addressing negative behaviors and practices as well as increase adoption of recommended behaviors and practices. Key among the partners we have worked with in Ghana includes; UNICEF, CARE, CRS, MEDA, World Cocoa Foundation, Winrock, VSO, AGRA, GHS, and MOFA. Through our social and behavior change programming, we have reached more than 1Million people in Ghana.
Job Description
- Duration of contract: 6 months with the possibility of an extension
- Reporting to: Finance and Administrative Manager
- Workstation: Tamale, Northern Region or Wa, Upper West Region
- Vacancies: 2 positions (1 each in Tamale and Wa)
- Carry out the administrative functions of the Tamale or Wa office including supervision of the cleaner and overseeing logistical arrangements for the smooth operation of the office.
- Manage office supplies including keeping accurate records and regularly checking stock levels to ensure timely replenishment.
- Maintain an updated filing system for all Amplio Ghana’s staff and correspondences.
- Ensure staff in the Tamale or Wa office adhere to the reporting and closing schedules for Amplio Ghana staff.
- Facilitate the approval of staff leave and file all approved leave.
- Maintain a logbook for all visitors coming to the Tamale or Wa office and facilitate their official engagements.
- Participate in Amplio-level team meetings.
- Perform any other administrative task assigned by the supervisor.
- Receive and review all staff funds requests to ensure there are devoid of errors and facilitate approvals by FAM and Country Director.
- Prepare error-free payment vouchers (PVs) and cheques for all approved fund requests as well as issue signed cheques to staff and vendors and when necessary, make bank withdrawals on behalf of management.
- Follow up with staff to liquidate promptly as per the financial manual schedule for liquidations.
- Receive and review all staff liquidated funds to ensure supporting documents are valid and expenditures are complete, accurate as well as consistent with the purpose for which the funds were requested and facilitate approval of the expensed funds by FAM and Country Director.
- Ensure all approved funds requests and payment vouchers and liquidations are timely filed (both electronically and hard copies).
- Ensure timely (weekly) capture of financial transactions into QuickBooks.
- Prepare monthly BvA reports using the Excel template developed by FAM.
- Facilitate the payment of salaries including statutory payments (SSNIT, GRA, etc.)
- Manage petty cash and regularly check the minimum threshold level to ensure timely replenishment of cash.
- Perform any other finance/accounting task assigned by the supervisor.
Required Skills or Experience
- Must have at least a bachelor’s degree in accounting and finance or any other related field.
- A good knowledge of QuickBooks is an added advantage.
- At least 2 years experience working with an NGO.
- Ability to work in a team and contribute to organizational team building.
- Very good interpersonal skills and ability to establish and maintain effective partnerships and working relations.
- Ability to ride a motorbike (A licensed rider).
